I honestly cannot even begin to explain how excited I am for the release of Mary Katrantzou's 10-piece capsule collection for Topshop on February 17.

Although the prices are considerably higher than usual Topshop offerings (ranging between £40 to £350), the avant-garde structured dresses and garments emblazoned in vivid, illusory digital prints make this collection worth the splurge.

Last Friday night I had the pleasure of attending Kanye West's concert at the Sydney Entertainment Centre.

Can we get much higher?

Enter Yeezy clad in gold bling and his infamous silk Celine blouse, rising above the dancefloor in a cherry picker in a cloud of pink smoke.

Within the first two minutes, I had seen it all. Kanye West wearing a Celine blouse while rapping about Phoebe Philo. My life was complete.

Later in the show, he reappeared in an all-red ensemble (I really wouldn't mind that red Balmain leather jacket).

KARL

January 25 (January 26 in Sydney) marked the global launch of Karl Lagerfeld's new eponymous line titled 'KARL'.

To celebrate the launch of his hotly-anticipated, accessibly-priced line, five pop up events took simultaneously took place in Paris, Berlin, London, New York and Sydney (YAY!).

Last Thursday at Bondi Beach, when the clock struck 12:00, the black sheet was pulled down to reveal a pop-up window shop where customers used the KARL for NET-A-PORTER app on their iPhone or iPad2 to scan and attempt to win items from the collection (the possibilities of technology these days is beyond imagination).

The predominantly monochrome 70-piece collection features metallic jeans, biker jackets, draped jersey dresses, sweaters, blazers and some androgynously cool footwear (I need those gladiator sandals in my life).

Despite not being one of the lucky people to score something from the KARL collection, my sister and I were part of the first 50 people in line, hence, we received a limited-edition KARL goodie bag including a shirt and a sequined collar from the collection.

When I walked into Acne several weeks ago and laid my eyes on their S/S 2012 resort collection I immediately fell madly in love with their mint green knits.

More specifically, I haven't stopped thinking about the 'Lia' cable knit sweater.

In the perfect shade of mint green. Undeniably, my favourite colour for this season.

Yesterday I spent the day in Bondi and of course, I couldn't leave without buying something (a serious issue of mine).

I came home with a couple of colourful pieces from Sass & Bide and Zimmermann...

I have been eyeing the 'Spanish Flea' scarf from Sass & Bide for quite some time now and when I saw that it had gone on sale I couldn't resist the temptation of buying it. I love the tassels and the way the various shades of orange fade into white. The size of the scarf makes it so versatile- it can be worn an infinite number of ways any season of the year.

When it comes to swimwear, Zimmermann never get it wrong!! Who would have thought that the mismatch of floral and leopard prints would look this great?

Investing in good quality shoes is something I take very seriously.

Danish shoe extraordinaire Camilla Skovgaard is renowned for her avant-garde sky-high stilettos and signature serrated rubber soles.

When I came across these architectural black platforms in Melbourne, I couldn't resist the temptation of trying them on, which (of course) inevitably led to me falling madly in love with them and never wanting to take them off my feet.

Despite the height and slimness of the heel, they are super comfortable and easy to walk in.

When you love a shoe... the price is always right.

TOPSHOP AU: THE LONDON LOOK

IT'S OFFICIAL! British retail giant Topshop has landed on Australian shores.

Australia welcomed it's first Topshop flagship store on Chapel Street in Melbourne's fashionable South Yarra on December 8.

Coincidentally, I had planned a girls weekend to Melbourne a week after the opening (perfect timing). So of course, the first thing we did when we arrived in Melbourne was head straight to Chapel Street to suss out the much anticipated high street chain store.

Greeted by an abundance of dazzling, sequin-embellished pieces and loud music, it was no surprise that our arms were rapidly weighed down with hangers accommodating glitter-emblazoned mini dresses, chunky knits, billowing maxi skirts and eclectic tees.

Things that pleasantly surprised me about Topshop Melbourne:

The stock accurately reflects what's in-store in the UK and online. Although this may bother some people due to seasonal differences, it means we don't have to deal with a disappointing southern hemisphere collection.
The prices are very similar. This was the biggest surprise as the majority of the time when an international brand comes to Australia, they inflate the prices like crazy.

Jacket/Acne, Singlet/Bassike, Skirt/Arnsdorf

I came away with a navy blue and white nautical striped sweater, a pair of black leggings, a black shift dress and a fabulous metallic silver tee (pictured above).

With the Sydney store only forecasted to open in August 2012, I'll undeniably be planning a return trip to Melbourne in the next month or two.

British bad boy designer Gareth Pugh has teamed up with Brazilian footwear label Melissa to create a unique collection of plastic shoes.

The collaboration features two different styles of "armour for the feet"- The 'Aileron', an avant-garde gladiator sandal that comes in monochrome variations; and the 'Ultra', a ballet flat with a slight peep-toe adorned in Pugh's iconic geometric print.

I am obsessing over the white/silver and black/silver 'Aileron' sandals. A fabulous statement piece, yet, the monochrome palette makes them a versatile addition to any summer wardrobe.

BEATING THE HUMIDITY

IT'S OFFICIAL! Exams are over and freedom is finally here. I cannot even begin to explain how liberating it felt to walk out of the exam room this morning knowing that my (almost) 4 month summer break had finally arrived.

On another note, the weather in Sydney at the moment is sooo revoltingly humid (almost to the point where I've considered packing my bags and moving to the Arctic Circle).

To avoid looking as though I'm channeling the Grace Coddington frizz, I never leave home without my super-sized bottle of Moroccanoil- I actually owe my life to the genius who created this magical product.

When I strolled into Capital L yesterday morning I was (once again) drawn like a magpie to the abundance of sequins from Tighttigers and Cameo adorning the racks. In a society that adheres to the "less is more" mantra, it has undoubtedly become a struggle to find shorts that are a reasonable length (particularly embellished ones).

I was SO thrilled when I stumbled across these amazing sequined culottes from Cameo. Such a statement piece and they are the perfect length and cut.

The highly anticipated Versace x H&M collection is set to hit 300 H&M stores worldwide, as well as online, on November 17.

So what can we expect from this designer collaboration? The iconic Versace look. This means an abundance of studs, leather, wild prints, flamboyant bling and of course, a super vibrant colour palette. In essence, the collaboration is definitely not for the faint-hearted.

CHANEL S/S 2012

Beneath the majestic glass domes of the Grand Palais, Karl Lagerfeld transported us into an all-white underwater kingdom as he revealed his flawless S/S 2012 RTW collection.

Models adorned in luminous pearls, sea-soaked pastels and iridescent fabrics emerged from a giant sea anemone onto a catwalk transformed into an impeccable white seabed garnished with shells, coral reef, silhouettes of seahorses, bubbles and twirling seaweed.

"I was inspired by the movement of seaweed, its lightness, and by certain fish that have very modern shapes, like sting rays," says Lagerfeld.

But King Karl's aquatic underworld was not complete without the gorgeous flame-haired Florence Welch, resembling a modern day Ariel, serenading the crowd from a giant white clam-shell.

What I really love about this uber chic collection is the way in which Lagerfeld has created haute couture designs that are both practical and wearable.

Evidently, no one puts on a show quite like Karl Lagerfeld.

When I first spotted this super hot gold satchel a few weeks ago on the streets of NY during Fashion Week, I instantly fell head over heels in love and haven't been able to stop thinking about it ever since.

Recently, I found out that the Cambridge Satchel Company collaborated with Japanese fashion label, Commes Des Garcons to create this fabulous line of ultra limited-edition satchels in gold, silver, black and white.

KANYE WEST'S SARTORIAL DEBUT

Outspoken rap star Kanye West is no stranger to putting on an unforgettable show, and this was no different last night when he staged his much-anticipated runway debut at Paris Fashion Week, revealing his first high-end womenswear collection titled 'DW'- a tribute to his late mother, Donda West.

The colour palette was dominated by black, white and neutral hues. Leather and fur featured prominently in the collection- a crystal clear reflection of Kanye's uber extravagant lifestyle.

As stated by AP Fashion Writer, Jenny Barchfield, Kanye's debut undoubtedly "bucked all the stereotypes about celebrity designers."

HAUTE COFFEE: ALEXANDER WANG x STARBUCKS

New York fashion designer, Alexander Wang and American coffee giant, Starbucks have joined forces to create a limited edition T-shirt in celebration of the coffee chain's 40th anniversary. 

When asked to design the limited edition garment for the world's largest coffee company, Wang told InStyle Magazine that his inspiration stemmed from the frequent morning mishap "everyone tries to avoid- spilled coffee on a T-shirt". 

The basic, white cotton tee gives the illusion of splattered coffee bleeding into the iconic Starbucks logo.

The concept is undeniably witty, however, I definitely wouldn't fork out $85 on a coffee-stained T-shirt.

Making a statement is something British bad boy designer Gareth Pugh knows a hell of a lot about; and yesterday was no exception, when he set the runway alight unveiling his fearless, sci-fi inspired spring-summer 2012 collection at Paris Fashion Week (#PFW).

Using a strict, monochrome palette of black and white, Pugh sent models down the runway in angular leather cages, contrasting stripes, grid-like pieces, and rigid, amour-like embellishments.

Paris Fashion Week's nine-day sartorial marathon kicked off yesterday with Portuguese designer, Fatima Lopes, showcasing her colorful spring/summer 2012 RTW collection at the top of the iconic Eiffel Tower, revealing the most picture-perfect panorama of La Ville-Lumière (The City of Light).

BRIGHT SILKS + PONY HAIR

During a recent visit to Bondi's Tuchuzy store, two things immediately caught my eye: the effortlessly elegant, vibrant-hued Equipment silk blouses and Anniel calf hair desert boots.

Anniel is an Italian footwear label that is originally renowned for their handmade dance and sport shoes. More recently they have shifted towards creating a more fashion-oriented line of footwear which still retains the thin, supple sole, making them a real pleasure to wear.

Equipment's androgynous silhouettes are synonymous with french minimalism, inevitably making them an inexhaustible wardrobe staple. This spring/summer season we are graced with silk blouses in blinding hues that even the most colour-shy can't resist!

I'm currently eyeing off this gorgeous Equipment dress in 'lime punch'- It'll be the perfect way to inject a bit of zest into my monotone wardrobe.

ACNE SS/2012

Inspired by a recent holiday to Marrakesh, Acne Head Designer Jonny Johansson, took us on an exotic journey through Morocco with his S/S 2012 showing at LFW. Tangerine, lavender, mustard and mosaic blue hues flooded the runway in new architectural structures and oversized proportions. Culotte-trousers, flat tasselled brogues, billowing cotton kaftans, prom dress silhouettes and star-punctured leather pieces, were a few of the standouts from the Swedish label's effortlessly cool collection.

I have to say I completely agree with style.com's Maya Singer:

"this collection set a new bar for Acne as a fashion house, as opposed to merely a bellwether street-wear brand."

VOGUE FASHION NIGHT OUT 2011

Last night I attended Vogue Fashion Night Out (VFNO), the largest global fashion and shopping bonanza. Sydney's retail landscape came alive with over 600 retailers participating in the worldwide event this year.

In 2009, Condé Nast launched the first ever VFNO event with the intention of supporting retailers and designers during the Global Financial Crisis. So, was it successful? The answer is YES; VFNO demonstrated how retailers can provide shoppers with an unparalleled experience, enabling them to enjoy what the industry has to offer.

Despite the onset of rain, thousands of eager shoppers flocked the streets of Sydney to take part in the one night only free fashion event- And believe me, not even the wet weather could dampen the high levels of excitement in the air.

What better way to kick of the night than at French luxury retailer Hermès?
